Product Description

Solve Your Cat Scratching Problems Using Original, Authentic, Soft Paws--Made in the U.S.A.

Developed by a veterinarian, Soft Paws® nail caps are made in the USA using non-toxic vinyl. The nail caps are applied to your cat's claws using a non-toxic, cold-bonding, veterinary-grade adhesive, and are a completely safe and humane solution to cat scratching problems. Soft Paws do not interfere with the normal extension and retraction of claws, and most cats don't even know they are wearing them.

Economical Price
Only $19.95 per package for a 4 to 6 month supply.

Each Soft Paws® kit contains 40 nail caps, 2 tubes of adhesive, applicator tips, and easy-to-follow instructions. One kit contains enough for 4 front paw applications and each application lasts approximately 4 to 6 weeks, which makes each kit lasts approximately 4 to 6 months.

Large Size: (Approximately 14 pounds and up)

Very large-boned and large-breed cats wear large. Maine Coons, for example, are very large cats and generally wear large.

Note: "Large" refers to how big-boned your breed of cat is, not how obese your cat may be. Fat cats have the same size claws as slim cats.

  1. Back Claws use

Posted by Geni P Hawkins on 13th Dec 2021

I'm using these a little differently from most: not to protect anything from the cat, but to protect the cat from herself. I have a chronically itchy girl who has a bad habit of digging at her neck and ears with her back claws. We've had her to the vet numerous times, and she's probably spent more time IN a cone in her 2 years than out of one. The Soft Paws are helping, along with an oral anti-itch medication, much more than even steroids did. I have to check her back claws once or twice a day, because she's a wizard at getting them off, but they allow her to scratch more like a normal cat, instead of self-mutilating. Fingers crossed we can keep her out of a cone!

She's a 17-lb Maine Coon girl, and the large size fits her back claws quite well. Applying them is a piece of cake.

  2. Wrong fit

Posted by Martha on 3rd Mar 2021

My cat is 14 lbs so I ordered the large soft paws. Today I took him to a groomer who said he needs small. So far he's doing fine with the small, and I'm exchanging the large.

Message from Dr Schelling at Soft Paws:
Thank you for your comments. Many cats have different bone structure and that can affect sizing, as well as if a cat is overweight. You can always contact us for assistance and we would be happy to help.

  3. AMAZING!

Posted by Bree on 22nd Feb 2021

I wish i had known about these a lot sooner! They are amazing! It can be a tad difficult to get a rhythm down while putting them on, but once you do it it's easy peasy. I would say that the video that shows the cat being totally cool with having them put on is a little misleading. My cats were not ok at first. My husband had to hold them and love on them before they were cool with it. But they stay on and last for a while. Will for sure be buying again.

  4. Best version of this product

Posted by Emily on 17th Nov 2020

These are a lifesaver. My cat is an anxious clawer and had destroyed my old couch. Since starting to use these both of our stress levels have gone down SO MUCH - he dislikes having them put on, but doesn't mind them otherwise, and with them he can claw furniture to his heart's content and do no damage. Be careful to check every day or two whether your cat has pulled off a claw, though! Mine does this pretty frequently but the protection is still absolutely worth it. I have noticed that the cleat locks prevent him from removing Soft Paws as quickly as other brands.

Another note: other brands of claw protectors do not offer a size large enough for my Maine Coon's claws, so in that respect as well Soft Paws is the clear favorite. Thank you!

  5. nails

This is just a great invention since declawing is inhumane for the cat. My cat still likes to scratch but seems to know when she's wearing these the furniture is off limits....only problem is she's defenseless if another cat attacks her.

  6. Pleased like peas!

Love the pretty colors and wide range,
Saved my furnitures from the scratches!

  7. First Purchase

Posted by Unknown on 22nd Aug 2019

This is my first time purchasing the soft paws and they do work!! My cat is a little bit uncomfortable (his first time after all) and managed to take them off couple of times. I hope he will get used to them soon. As someone who is living outside the US, they are somehow expensive but I think they are worth it if they stick for a long time :)

  8. cat claw protection

Posted by Joy McLouth on 15th Jul 2019

This is the best invention ever. People should NOT get their cats de clawed. These soft paws work like a charm. They have saved my furniture.

  9. I think they are a bit pricey

Posted by ashby on 22nd Mar 2019

I think they are a bit pricey. They work but tend to come off too soon. I wish they were more flexible.

  10. Protection From My Very Loving Felines!

Posted by Tamra Smith on 3rd Dec 2018

While it is true that these claw caps are except to protect furniture and carpet from kitties that like to scratch, my main reason for using them is to protect me. My cats love to knead me using their claws, and it can really hurt. Even if I trim their claws regularly, it still hurts sometimes. If I apply the Soft Paws about every 4-6 weeks, I get all the love with no pain. There is a learning curve with cats. They may try to chew them off the first few times you apply them, but with continuous use, the eventually stop messing with them. They still climb their cat tree and act like normal cats in every other way.
